Each vane assy consists of an outer shroud which isfitted with one or two mounting flanges at its ends. The inner shroudface is lined with abradable material facing both forward rotating airseal, the booster spacers sealing lips and the aft blade retainer. The2nd stage vane assy has 107 vanes. It is 40 inches in circumference onthe outer diameter, 5 inches in depth, with a center bore approximately18 inches. Function: To provide a mounting slot and position for the 107titanium alloy vanes to compress the cooling air provided by the Stage 1booster blades before sending it to the 3rd and 4th stages for furthercompression and distribution to the internal engine system. The proposed contract action is for supplies and services for which theGovernment intends to solicit and negotiate with only one, or a limitednumber of sources under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested personsmay identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirementor submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request forcompetitive proposals. However, all proposals received within fortyfive-days (thirty days if award is issued under an existing basicordering agreement) after date of publication of this synopsis will beconsidered by the Government. A Determination by the Government not tocompete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice issolely within the discretion of the Government.
