- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. A SOLICITATION IS NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. REQUEST FOR A SOLICITATION WILL NOT RECEIVE A RESPONSE. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS A FOLLOW UP TO THE JUNE 19, 2008 INDUSTRY DAY HELD WITH RESPECT TO ANNOUNCEMENT NUMBERS N00019-08-P7-ZD219 (Classification Code 84), N00019-08-P7-ZD231 (Classification Code 16), and N00019-08-P7-ZD232 (Classification Code 83). The Naval Air Systems Command, Aircrew Endurance Program (PMA-202) is conducting market research to identify the existence of potential business sources capable of supporting the production of a new man mounted survival item/body armor carrier. This carrier will be a replacement for the currently fielded survival vest and body armor worn by USN and USMC operators of H-46, H-53, UH-1, H-60, V-22, and AH-1 aircraft. Please refer to the original synopsis under the above referenced announcement numbers for further details. An Industry Day was held June 19, 2008 specific to potential component manufacturers, such as weavers/knitters/spinners of fabric, fabric netting, fabric mesh, webbing, tapes, bindings, and/or sewing threads; and formers of textile, metal, plastic, and/or composite fasteners, closures, connectors, adjusters, and pulls. Potential component manufacturers are invited to review the June 19, 2008 Industry Day slide presentation and draft specification EXERPT on the NAVAIR website at https://www.navair.navy.mil. Select “Doing business with us,” then select “Open Solicitations,” reference “N00019-08-P7-ZD219.” Direct comments and/or questions by email to karen.collier@navy.mil. Comments and/or questions will be accepted no later than 4:00PM 23 July 2008. Questions and answers will be published on the NAVAIR website. Interested vendors may also submit product literature and samples at no cost to the Government to DEPT OF THE NAVY, Naval Air Warfare Center, Attn: Todd Code 4673 B2187, 48110 Shaw RD STE 2240, PATUXENT RIVER MD 20670-1906. Any product literature, samples, and/or any other information submitted to the Government shall not be returned. All items submitted shall comply with the Berry Amendment. This announcement is NOT intended for vendors or manufacturers of pocketry, flotation, gear carriage vests, hydration, cooling/heating technologies, armor carriers, armor hard plate, fragmentation soft plate, harnesses, webgear, cushion covers, other man-mounted clothing, or any other prime vendors outsourcing to the aforementioned component manufacturers. This announcement is not a Request for Proposal. The Government will not reimburse any cost associated with providing information or items in response to this announcement and any follow-up information requests.
