- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command, Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAVAIR WD), China Lake, CA intends to procure 16 each Synthetic Source Instruments (SSI) on an other than full and open competition basis. The Navy intends to enter into negotiations with AAI Corporation (AAI), 124 Industry Lane, Hunt Valley, MD 21030-3342. The SSI's will be used in an Electronic Warfare Systems Integration Test Environment (EW SITE) that will be used to test the full complement of F/A-18 subsystems using the Radio Frequency (RF) spectrum. AAI is the manufacturer of the SSI's and the only source capable of meeting this requirement. The SSIs are the frequency synthesizers that reside within the EW SITE and provide digitally controlled frequency, phase, amplitude, and time based modulation. The SSI's are the only model of RF synthesizer compatible with the EW SITE. The SSIs are commercial items that were developed by AAI Corporation exclusively at private expense. They are not currently licensed to other manufacturers. A contract is expected to be awarded by 28 August 2008, FOB Destination China Lake, CA 93555. The delivery schedule will be 15 MOS after date of award. A written Request for Quote (RFQ) will be issued pursuant to FAR part 12 and 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items.
