Description
This project consists of reconstructing the Spooner Trailhead & Picnic Area located along HWY 50 on the Carson Ranger District on the Humbolt-Toiyabe National Forest. The work will include the demolition and disposal (or salvage) of existing campground structures (site furniture, gates, culverts, etc.); pulverizing existing asphalt surface roads, and parking areas; reconstruction and paving of roads, and parking areas; construction of new family units with site furniture; construction of new pathways; relocation of existing fuel tank; seeding and placing erosion control matting; and installation and construction of other site features (site identification and traffic control signs, gates, culverts, curb stops, bulletin board, paint stripping and barrier rocks).Optional work that may be awarded includes all work described above associated with: Option #1: This work includes removing all overhead and underground feeders/circuits, poles, and devices up to but not including the electrical service equipment with masts at the site entrance. This does include removal of the fuel pumps on the fuel storage tank and DC circuit. See sheets “S1” and “E3.” Option #2: This work includes removing the electrical service equipment with masts at the site entrance and installation of all electrical distribution and utilization equipment as called for on the electrical sheets. Option #3: Relocating one 2,000 gallon fuel storage tank from its existing location (On-site) to a new site (On-site) and the construction of a concrete slab (including aggregate base and concrete) and installation of bollards. Solicitation (Request for Proposals), will be available at this site, on or about July 9, 2008. Proposals due NLT 3:30 PM Pacific on August 11, 2008. Pre-Bid meeting info will be in solicitation. There will be a PRE-Offer, Site visit at 2:00 PM Local time on Tuesday, July 15th. Interested vendors meet Forest Service personnel at the parking area on Nevada Highway 50 located approx. 12 miles south of Carson City, and approximately 600 feet past the turn off for NF-39. If you get to the junction with Hwy 28, you've gone too far.
