Description
NASA/KSC has a requirement for motorized roller shades, including installation, ina conference room approximately 44 x 22, at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida. Motorized roller shades installation:Contractor to provide all equipment, transportation to supply and installmotorized roller shades. Contractor to run electrical cables from power panel location.Contractor tosupply and install one 20-amp 110v dedicated outlet at power panel location. Wiring andconnections from outlet to the power panel is provided by the government. Power panel location to be located adjacent to audiovisual equipment rack, tocoordinate with current KSC contractor for access to power Contractor to provide any low voltage terminations necessary. Contractor to supply, install and paint 10 fascia. (with 3 flap and hanger).Contractor to deliver schematics of all equipment and connections. All work to be performed at off hours between 5pm 6am, and weekends.Whileinstallation occurs, all work to be completed each day in such a manner to allow normaluse of the conference room, maintain cleanliness of work areaMotorized roller shades Characteristics:Provide Coupled roller system.Provide shades for nominal three window banks.Shades to be surface mounted.System to have flexible control of groups of shades without special wiring orexternal group controllers.System to have uniform movement of multiple shades with programmable stop pointswhere bottom bar alignment is maintained to within nominal.125 in.Shades to have minimal, symmetrical light gaps (.75 in. maximum) between edge offabric and window frame Drive system is to be concealed System is to have quiet performance, nominal 44dBA at 3 ft.System is to be easily reconfigured, limits changed, and presets reprogrammedwithout rewiring by accessing the remote, keypad, or electronic drive unit.System is to have keypad controls for each bank.Contractor is to supply one remote control for total shade system control.The operation of electrical shade system must be integrated into the A/V touchPanel, specifications to be providedKeypads, cover plates, switches receptacles: Satin finish, color palladium. Finalchoices to be made after award.Fabric: Blackout shades: Full Blackout conditions, 100% opaque, Gain total darkness withno view of the outside: Color: White (Lutron Value Premiere BP-P62-0 or equivalent)Sunscreen shades: Color: Oyster (Lutron Basket Weave 90 SP-12-90 orequivalent). Openness factor between 3%-10%. Final choices to be made after award.Lutron, Sivoia QED 100 or equivalentThis notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared inaccordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additionalinformation included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the onlysolicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are beingrequested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the SimplifiedAcquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13. You must be registered in CCR to be able get awarded a contract. Registration can beobtained through the Internet at http://www.ccr.gov/ If the end product(s) offered is other than domestic end product(s) as defined in theclause entitled Buy American ActSupplies, the offeror shall so state and shall listthe country of origin.Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing (e-mail is preferred)no later than July, 16, 2008. Telephone questions will not be accepted. Quotes are dueby 5:00 p.m. local time, July 28, 2008, and may be submitted via mail, email, or fax toRegina Clifton. Quotes must include solicitation number, FOB destination to this center, proposeddelivery schedule, discount/payment terms, taxpayer identification number (TIN),identification of any special commercial terms, and be signed by an authorized companyrepresentative. To be eligible for award, all vendors must attend a site visit. A site visit is requiredfor the vendors to measure and obtain the necessary dimensions. All offerors mustcontact the Contracting Officer (CO), with their request to visit the site no later thanWednesday, July 16, 2008. Site visit details to be provide by the CO, after the CO isnotified of vendors intent to visit.Selection and award will be made to the offeror whose offer will be most advantageous tothe Government (See FAR 2.101, Best Value), with consideration given to the factors ofquality of construction, overall ease of operation, fit and aesthetics, and pastperformance. Please include product literature or other information to allow the Government todetermine best value. If needed, the Government reserves the right to request oralpresentations on all quoted products to help determine best value. For past performance the offers must provide a list of: (1) the past seven consecutivejobs. Include project description dates of performance and customer contact information,and (2) the last three jobs of similar magnitude. Include project description, dates ofperformance, and customer contact information.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
