Description
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is seeking competent and qualified contractors interested in providing offers to perform work as listed in the title of the announcement, and as synopsized below. Work shall include general construction, compaction, and grading of a road leading to the FAA facility. The road is approximately 2,200 feet in length. Construction shall consist of clearing and grubbing the existing road. Base coarse material shall be added to the existing road to raise the new roadway a minimum of four (4) inches above surrounding grade. Approximately 100 feet of roadway, to be identified by FAA, shall be raised a total of twelve (12) inches above the surrounding roadway and constructed to allow water to pond on either side without damage to the road surface. A trench drain system shall be constructed on both sides of the road at this low point in order to channel water away from the road. The drains shall be approximately three (3) feet deep by one (1) foot wide by fifty (50) feet long and lined with a geotextile or landscaping fabric. A perforated four (4) inch Schedule 80 PVC pipe shall be installed near the bottom of the trench on 2 inches of rock minimum. The pipe shall have perforations of at least inch in diameter every 4 inches along the length of the top of the pipe. The pipe shall be installed so that there is a difference of at least 3 inches in elevation to allow sufficient drainage away from the road. The trench shall be filled with rock not exceeding 2 inches in diameter. A portion of the existing road, which is below grade, shall be filled in with clean fill dirt. This accounts for approximately 50 feet of road located just south of the facility building. The new road shall be built adjacent to the compacted fill using a minimum of 4 inches of base coarse material leading to the gate entrance at the facility. All work shall be accomplished according to the plans and specifications that will be provided. 1.Contract performance time is 14 days. This construction project is being procured by full and open competition. 2.The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 237310 and the small business size standard is $31 Million.3.The dollar range for this project is under $60,000.4.Contractor is expected to perform at least 15 % of the work utilizing the contractor's own employees.5.The anticipated start date for this project will be the week of August 4, 2008.6.Contractor MUST be registered in Central Contractor Registration (CCR) before contract award.
