- The National Data Buoy Center intends to negotiate only with Datawell BV of Haarlem Netherlands for 1 HIPPY-40 MKII combined pitch-roll-heavemeter 40 second and Inspection/Repair of 2 each HIPPY-40 MKII. NDBC uses the sensors predomintately on teh west coast where low frequency swell and waves occur. Datawell HIPPY is considered the industry standard against which all other wave measurement systems are compared. Datawell does not license any other vendor to perform repairs on their sensors.
