- The Space and Naval Warfare SystemsCenter (SPAWARSYSCEN) Charleston Code 562T0 is seeking information on a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) Firewall and Server Load Balancing (FWSLB) applicance. The intent is to obtain current information regarding the FWSLB technologies that are available. This document is to be used for information gathering purposes only and in no way is contractually binding to the procurement of a FWSLB solution. The developers and maintainers of this document are subject matter experts on the FWSLB technology and are not requesting proposals from companies for an FWSLB solution. SPAWAR requires that all vendors proposed hardware and software have a proven history with references and results. If evelopmental software or improved versions of existing software are included in the overall information package, the nature, status, development timeline, and delivery activities should be clearly stated. SPAWAR System Center Charleston, PMW 160IA Code 562T0, Network Security Design & Product Analysis is tasked to identify a viable FWSLB solution. The purpose of this document is to solicit a RFI from the selected FWSLB vendors. Vendor products which meet the majority of the requirements may be considered for further testing. The goals and objectives of the FWSLB solution are: 1. To efficiently distribute traffic by providing fast reliable access to services on multiple servers within the Information Assurance (IA) suite. 2. To provide integration within the existing planned SPAWAR Charleston Navy Fleet NOC network infrastructure. All information received will be treated as public knowledge, therefore, vendors should not submit proprietary information in response to this RFI. Specific information sought is outlined in the attached Relevant Vendor Experience, References & Requirements form. Technical point of contact is Mr. Rickey Gregg, code 562T0, 843-218-6587. Submit non- technical questions and the completed Relevant Vendor Experience, References & Requirements form to the Senior Contract Negotiator, Deborah D. This RFI is for information gathering and planning purposes only, and should not be construed as a Request for Proposal (RFP) or solicitation of an offer. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or otherwise pay for the information solicited. NOTICE: No information concerning the results of this market survey will be posted or provided. If a competitive procurement is issued by this office, a synopsis will be posted to this website.
