Description
Description: The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking proposals from construction firms for the CARES Consolidation Phase 2, Consolidation Building, Building No. 29 project at the VA Pittsburgh Health Care System, University Drive Division, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The project is Phase 2 of the Consolidation of the Pittsburgh VA Health Care System and will construct approximately 198,000 square feet of behavioral health care space 1. Contractor shall furnish labor, materials, equipment, transportation, supervision, coordination and services required to perform and complete the work required by drawings and specifications for the CARES Consolidation Phase 2, Consolidation Building, Building No. 29 work at the VA Pittsburgh Health Care System, University Drive Division, University Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15240-1005. The work will consist of six stories and one partial ground level (below grade) and one partial basement level that is intended to link the West stair and elevators with the existing structure 2.Building No. 29 is a new facility intended to provide outpatient services and inpatient care. It is to be constructed at the VA University Drive site in the Oakland section of Pittsburgh, PA, immediately adjacent to the existing VA hospital. The new building will consist of six stories and one partial ground level (below grade) and one partial basement level that will link the West stair and elevators with the existing structure. 3.The new building will be bounded by the existing hospital on the West and South Sides at the ground level through the second floor, and on the West side at the third through fifth floors. 4. The project will require partial renovation of the existing hospital in proximity to the connections with Building 29. Asbestos abatement and the removal of hazardous waste are required.. The offeror shall furnish, obtain any and all necessary licenses and/or permits required to perform this work in the state of Pennsylvania. The solicitation is unrestricted. Cost Range for this procurement is between $50,000,000 and $100,000,000. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 236220. Solicitation documents will be available on or about July 16, 2008. A Pre-Proposal conference is scheduled for July 30, 2008 at 1:30PM Local Time at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, University Drive Division, University Drive, Room 3W136 Pittsburgh, PA 15240. Sealed proposals are due to the Contracting Officer by August 21, 2008, 3:00 PM EDT. There will be no public opening. For changes to the issue date or any other changes to the information in this synopsis, potential offerors are responsible to check the information at https://www.fbo.gov/. The solicitation package will be posted on FedBizOpps, which can be accessed at https://www.fbo.gov/. The Government will not provide paper copies of the solicitation.
