- NASA/GRC has a requirement for two proof of concept exciters for the 100 lbfLO2-LCH4 Reaction Control Engine Assembly as a continuation under NASA ContractNNC06CB64C with Aerojet of Sacramento, California. This requirement is focused oncompleting the design and development of a space rated exciter that can be packaged in asmall volume between the engine propellant valves.This procurement involves the following:ItemData Description1. Integrated Master Schedule (Microsoft Project)2. Complete Detailed Design 3. Complete Design Analysis4. CDR (Critical Design Review) 5. Design Assurance Testing 6. Deliverable/Functional Proof of Concept Units Presentation Aerojet shall deliver exciters in the quantities defined below.Hardware DescriptionQty*UsageDevelopment Units2 each, Prototype units, used for Proof of Concept developmentThe Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.See Note26.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeNLT July 31, 2008. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
