Description
This project consists of providing all labor, materials, and equipment to renovate the Control Room Suite in Building 430 at the Arnold Engineering Development Center/White Oak site in Silver Spring Maryland. The control room renovation work consists of the following: A. Provide selective demolition of floors, floor coverings, ceilings, walls, wall covering doors, architectural appurtenances, HVAC duct work, computer room air conditioning equipment, piping, and electrical systems as indicated. The tile floor covering contains asbestos and shall be demolished and disposed of properly and legally as described in the specification. B. Coordinate and sequence work with the Owner for items to be removed or protected by the Government. Provide for partial Owner occupancy as described in the specifications. C. Provide new construction of control suite as indicated. D. Provide modifications to, and re-commissioning of existing Multi-zone HVAC system. Provide two new computer room air conditions systems for the Equipment Room. E. Provide electrical systems including new distribution equipment, new lighting systems, new branch circuit wiring, and installation and rough-in for Government furnished system. F. Existing fire alarm system shall remain in service for the building. Contractor shall coordinate for disconnection of devices in the area of construction. Contractor shall provide rough-in for new and relocated fire alarm devices as indicated on the drawings. The Government will furnish and install wiring and devices. Contractor shall coordinate for exact back box requirements for each device. G. Voice and data system wiring and devices as indicated on the drawings, within the area of the project, shall be provided by the Contractor. Cable numbers and specific connector assignments shall be coordinated. The Government will relocate and re-install the existing network/phone rack and equipment. Performance period is 112 calendar days following Notice to Proceed. Invitation for Bid will be available on or about 29 July 2008. Bid opening date will be on or about 28 August 2008. Construction Magnitude: Between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. Invitation for Bid (IFB) will only be available electronically at the FBO website. No hardcopies, faxes, or emails will be available. Please register as a source to be notified of IFB Amendments, Clarifications, etc. However, it is the responsibility of contractors (even those registered as a source) to check the FBO website frequently to ensure they have all available information.
