Description
NAICS Code: 339111 NACIS Code: 339111 The purpose of Amendment No. 2 to RFQ-NY-08-00012 is to address questions/answers and to incorporate revisions and attachments into the RFQ.The following questions and answers regarding the technical specifications for RFQ-NY-08-00012 are hereby provided:1. Can the lock-down feature of the mobile cabinets be lockable castors?Answer: Lockable castors are an acceptable feature for the mobile cabinets.2. There is only (1) blue color for epoxy resin. It is a dark blue. The only matching that can take place between blue epoxy and laminates is finding a standard laminate color which will be acceptable. Special order colors from laminate manufacturers and epoxy manufacturers are not possible. Answer: A medium to dark blue is being requested.3. Can the edges of the epoxy counters be a 45 degree bevel and not be rounded off?Answer: A 45 degree bevel is acceptable for countertop edges. The Sanitary Laboratory Furniture Specifications and the SanitarybayCRFQ5.xls drawing are modified to reflect this change.4. Our supplier of metal casework normally supplies a full extension slide on drawers. This feature in not only very strong but allows the researcher to pull the drawer fully out of the cabinet. This allows good visibility of the drawer's contents. Self-closing full extension slides are available but they are very expensive. I do not know of any manufacturer who manufactures a self-centering slide. Not sure what you mean by "hold-open feature" on a drawer slide. All the drawers, on a cabinet which is leveled, will stay open manually unless they are pushed shut. Is the "hold-open" feature on the drawer slide to stop the drawer from accidentally closing? Answer: The "hold-open" feature allows the self-closing drawer to remain open, if desired. The self-centering feature is hereby deleted from the Sanitary Laboratory Furniture Specifications.5. Request was made for additional information on the Line Item #45 of the Material List. Not sure what this item is. Will need at least a hand sketch of this item.Answer: See attachment entitled portable desk birri.dwg.The following revisions are made to RFQ No. PR-NY-08-00012:Paragraph 2 is deleted and replaced as follows:The EPA intends to issue one fixed price purchase order to the responsible vendor whose quote most closely conforms to the specifications, drawings and evaluation criteria set forth in the RFQ. No 10 of the RFQ Instructions is modified (in capital letters) as follows:10) In order to be considered responsive, vendors must address each specification listed under attachment Sanitary Laboratory Furniture Specifications and follow instructions above. Vendors must include sufficient descriptive material to permit the Government to determine IF the proposed response will meet the technical specifications stated in RFQ. CAD drawings showing the layout of all proposed furniture must be included in the quote package.Paragraph 2 of Clause 212-2, Evaluation-Commercial Items in the Attachment entitled "RFQ-NY-00012 Commercial Clauses" is deleted and replaced as follows:The following factors, in descending order of importance, are to be used for evaluation purposes:1. Furniture that most closely conforms to the requirements, dimensions and configuration as described in the attached drawings and specifications.2. PriceItem 5 of the Sanitary Laboratory Furniture Specifications in the Attachment entitled "RFQ-00012 SOW" is modified (in capital letters) to read as follows 5. Color of all epoxy resin counter tops and shelves, as well as any laminates, must be closely matched in color: a medium-to-dark blue color is being requested - exact color to be determined upon acceptance of shop drawings. Edges of epoxy COUNTERtops MAY BE ROUNDED OR BEVELED 45 DEGREES. Shelves must be rounded over. Epoxy tops should extend one inch over frames of casework, except at walls and be one inch thick. Backsplashes and sidesplashes must be added whenever a countertop or shelf abuts a wall. Heavy duty supports must be utilized for all shelving. All countertop references in the attachment entitled "SanitarybayCRFQ5.xls" have been modified to read "or 45 DEGREE BEVELED" edge. See attachment for specific changes.Interested sources can submit their request for the RFQ/Amendments via e-mail address (lamela.yolanda@epa.gov) Quotations are due on or before close of business: July 23, 2008. All other terms and conditions of the solicitation remain the same.
