Description
The U.S. Army RDECOM - Natick Contracting Division, Kansas Street, Natick, MA on behalf of the United States Army Soldier Systems Center, Natick, MA in support of Product Manager-Clothing and Individual Equipment utilizing utilize Simplified Acquisitions Procedures FAR 13.5 Test Program for Certain Commercial Items, has a requirement for hot weather combat boots for a commercial item evaluation. The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to solicit hot weather combat boots for field evaluation. The hot weather combat boots will be used by Product Manager-Clothing and Individual Equipment to evaluate construction techniques currently being used by the footwear industry. The proposed items must be constructed with direct attach soling system, with a polyether-polyurethane cushioned midsole and both rubber outsoles and polyether-polyurethane outsoles according to a Purchase Description. Production Demonstration Models (PDMs) shall be submitted for each submission. The government anticipates making one award, but reserves the right to make multiple awards. This will be a full and open competitive award. The NAICS Code is 316219 and the size standard is 500 employees. This is not a RFP. The Government intends to make one award on a Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity(IDIQ) contract as a result of the RFP. The Government anticipates a one year ordering period. The anticipated total minimum requirement is 2,000 with a maximum total requirement of 2,500 units. The successful offeror will receive the first delivery order (DO) with the minimum quantity mentioned above for the award. Comments relating to this synopsis should be submitted via email to Judy Collier, at judy.a.collier@us.army.mil, no later than 16 JULY 2008. The Government anticipates releasing the RFP on or about 20 JULY 2008.
