Description
The US Fish and Wildlife Service contracting and General Services Office in Portland, Oregon has a performance based acquisition for the removal of 116 acres of walnut orchard on the La Barranca Unit of the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge (SRNWR). The Unit location is approximately 5 miles south of Red Bluff, CA, off of Tyler Road in Tehama County, CA. Access to the project site is located 0.5 miles east of East Canal Road on a private gravel Road. The walnuts are of the Chico Variety and planted on roughly 25' x 25' spacing layout with approximately 60 trees per acre. The vendor is to remove these trees including the stumps and roots. Debris will be removed from site, burning is not allowed. Site preparation will follow tree removal. A restoration plan will be undertaken and will deveop two options for planting designs based on the hydrologic, geologic, edaphic (soil), biologic and historic conditions at the site. Award will be made to one vendor only who will perform all required tasks. Basis for award will be 'Best Vallue' to the government with past experience more important than price. This Soliciation and all its attachments can be viewed electronically through a link to the National Business Center (NBC) Interior Electronic Acquisition System-Electronic Commerce at www.fedbizopps.gov. Note: This acquisition is a set aside for small business concerns. In the event of insufficient small business concern participation, award may be made to a large business. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 115112 and the small business size standard is 6.5 million. A site visit has been scheduled for Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at 2:00 PM. Offerors should notify Kelly Moroney via e-mail: kelly_moroney@fws.gov or telephone (530) 934-2801 the day before if they plan on attending. Offerors shall meet at the Red Bluff Fish & Wildlife Office located at 10950 Tyler Road, Red Bluff, CA. Please arrive a few minutes early.
