- Description
- The Philadelphia Office of the Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Norfolk's Contracting Department intends to solicit for self-paced, computer-interactive, academic skills and aptitude testing and instructional classes for Sailors worldwide in support of the Navy College Learning Centers (NCLC) and the Navy's Voluntary Education (VOLED) program. The academic skills and aptitude testing is designed to evaluate Sailors' skill levels in English, mathematics, reading, and life skills. Once the individual skill level is measured and established, it will further be necessary for the Sailor to be provided self-paced instructional classes in English, mathematics, reading, and life skills from the fifth grade level all the way through completion of twelfth grade in order to attain the equivalent level of high school completion. It is anticipated that the Navy will solicit for a fixed price, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity type contract under which task orders will be issued. There will be a twelve-month base period with four option years. Interested vendors will be required to submit technical and price proposals. The applicable NAICS Code for the requirement is 611710. The solicitation will be issued as unrestricted. It is anticipated that the solicitation for this requirement shall be posted on or after 20 August 2008 at the Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO) website (www.neco.navy.mil
