- Description
- THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 01 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR INFRAREDCAMERA SYSTEM.Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This noticeserves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will notbe issued. The purpose of this amendment is to provide the technical questions received below withthe answers that were provided.QUESTIONS:1. Provide the camera image measurement range from -50F to 1200F with at least 1Fresolution (supply Neutral Density filter if required) Am I correct in my interpretationof the specification that a single range encompassing these extreme temperatures isdesired as opposed to a recomposed sequence made from smaller sub ranges? 3. Provide the camera image measurement range from 50F to 2400F with at least 2Fresolution (supply Neutral Density filter if required)Same exact concerns as above.4. Ability for the camera to measure cold temperatures from ambient (70F) to liquidnitrogen (-320F)5. Do the calibration specifications included apply for each of the four lenses?6. Ability to accept 2-4 lens, 20-22 lens, 40-45, 60-65 lens. The literalinterpretation is that the camera needs to be able to work with these lenses, but thewording does not state that the lenses need to be quoted. Can you clarify this please, because if the wording stays the same, we will not quote any lenses.ANSWERS:The requirement of a temperature range span of -50F to 1200F with 1F resolution may bemeet with recomposed sequence made from smaller sub ranges. The sensitivity to low temperatures will decrease with the neutral density filterrequired to obtain the higher temperatures, please provide the temperature range with theneutral density filter for the camera submitted for consideration for this requirement. The requirement of a temperature range span of 50F to 2400F with 2F resolution may bemeet with recomposed sequence made from smaller sub ranges. The sensitivity to low temperatures will decrease with the neutral density filterrequired to obtain the higher temperatures, please provide the temperature range with theneutral density filter for the camera submitted for consideration for this requirement. The requirement "Ability for the camera to measure cold temperatures from ambient (70F)to liquid nitrogen (-320F)" may not be possible from any 3-5um camera we know, butwanted to place the desired camera requirements out on the open market to see what isavailable. If the camera is required to be calibrated by the factory for support the camerasoftware, then each lens should be provided with calibration but if the end user canperform the calibration, then the additional lens may be provided without factorycalibration. The quote should include the lens which is included with the standard camera package. The other lens should be listed as options to purchase. The due date for receipt of offers is not extended.Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASAAcquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on July 21, 2008 to Judith Drabkin atJudith.R.Drabkin@nasa.gov; FAX: 256-544-4401.
