- The VA Network 22 Logistic Office intends to negotiate a sole source procurement (VA 664-08-8143-0745) in accordance with Far Part 13 with Alternative Design, Inc. under authority of Far 6.302-1. This procurement is for the purchase of Alternative Design Gentle Air Ventilated Racks (rodent cages). This equipment is currently in use at the VA San Diego Medical Center. AD Gentile Air Racks were determined to provide superior containment and ventilation capabilities and conforms to all requirements of the facility. Due to expanding rodent colonies, there is a need to purchase additional racks. AD Gentile Air Vented Caging Racks provide containment at the cage level where each cage is individually ventilated (exhaust and intake). Currently, there is no other equipment that will satisfy this requirement, as the cages and other parts are not interchangeable between racks from different manufacturers. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirements by submitting their request in writing with complete name, address, telephone and fax numbers, and a point of contact. The Government will consider all quotes received by 12:00 PM, July 23, 2008. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed procurement based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
