Description
The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, with Carl Zeiss Microimaging, Inc. One Zeiss Drive, Thornwood, NY 10594 to procure an upright fixed stage microscope (filterset 46 HE YFP shift free, FL Filter set 63 HE mRFP shift free, Achromatic adaption for illumination, X-CITE 120 XL 3M IRIS FL LIGHT, SPARE X-CITE 120 LAMP, C-Mount Adapter 60N C 1 1 Ox). This microscope is required for fluorescent imaging and electrophysiology of living transgenic zebrafish in the Section of Model Synapse. Carl Zeiss Microimaging, Inc. is the only known source capable of providing this equipment. This action is under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253 (1) as set forth in FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other device of this nature will satisfy agency requirements. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all responses received before the closing date of this announcement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition is based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. It is anticipated that Request for Quote (RFQ), NIHDK2008040, will be available fifteen (15) days after the publication date of this synopsis. Receipt of quotations will be due five (5) days after the release of the RFQ. Request for the RFQ must be in writing to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, 6707 Democracy Blvd., Room 774A, Bethesda, MD, 20817 Attention: Lisa Josephowitz, josephol@mail.nih.gov FAX quotations must contain offerors names, address, telephone and fax number.
