- The University of the Virgin Islands is the only known research institution accessible to the established sites at St. John, USVI that can support field research there. This proximitity to established monitoring sites in St. John (with a 3 year established data stream) maked UVI's involvement the most known cost effective use of the SEFSC dollars for this program by avoiding costly travel expenses that would be required for resarchers based at any other institution.
