- The Department of Agriculture (USDA), Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Veterinary Services (VS), Riverdale, MD intends to procure the services of Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) sample collection to support the Ongoing BSE Surveillance Program. The Government intends to establish a firm-fixed price performance-based multiple Blanket Purchase Agreement in which firm-fixed price per unit commercial task orders(s) will be issued against each BPA established. Base period beginning October 1, 2008 with the option to extend for an additional four (4) years. The surveillance program requires brain stem samples from ante-mortem condemned cattle and/or 3D/4D cattle to be collected from the following slaughter locations only: Central Beef Ind. LLC, Center Hill, FL, Henry Kohn, Inc. Monroeville, NJ, Tyson Fresh Meats, Inc., Geneseo, IL, Florida Beef Inc., Zolfo Springs, FL, Dakota Premium Foods LLC, Saint Paul, MN and Los Banos Abattoir, Los Banos, CA. The Contractor is responsible for sample collection, sample submission, data entry, transportation, storage and disposal of carcasses and offal, and related activities in accordance with the Statement of Work. The solicitation, AG-6395-S-08-0099, will be released at this website on or about August 1, 2008 and will be a 100% small business set-aside, therefore, all responsible small businesses may submit an offer. The NAICS code is 325320 with a size standard of 500 employees. After release, one may download a copy of this solicitation at this site. Multiple awards are anticipated. The primary intent of this solicitation is to obtain sample collections in association with Line Item 1: ante-mortem condemned cattle. The solicitation, # AG-6395-S-08-0099, is to be affixed to all documents submitted in reference to this requirement. Telephone requests will not be accepted.
