- HOONAH BRIDGE PLANKS This project will be totally set-aside for Hub-zone Business Concerns. Prospective bidders who wish to provide comments on the set-aside matter should provide these comments to the contracting officer on or before August 3, 2008. Indeed, all prospective bidders are invited to notify the contracting officer of their interest in the acquisition. GENERAL PROJECT DESCRIPTION The intent of the contract is to replace existing untreated bridge surface planks. Old bridge planks become the property of the contractor and must be removed from National Forest land. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, supplies, and perform all work required to meet the specifications and drawings. Contract Type – Firm Fixed Price. Estimated Price Range – between $100,000 and $250,000. Period of Performance – 365 days after issuance of the notice to proceed. PROJECT LOCATION The project is located near Hoonah on the Hoonah National Forest road system. All work is on single lane forest roads. Hoonah is accessible by scheduled air taxi service, barge, and the Alaska Marine Highway System. OBTAINING A SOLICITATION The solicitation will be posted on FedBizOpps website on or about August 4, 2008 for viewing and printing. Bidders are requested to obtain the solicitation from the Internet. If unable to successfully obtain the solicitation from the Internet, then a hard copy of the solicitation documents may be requested via fax at 907-228-6254. All requests must reference solicitation number AG-0116-S-08-0060. Telephone requests will not be honored. Bids will be due approximately 30 calendar days after the solicitation issue date. NOTIFICATION OF SOLICITATION AMENDMENTS The Forest Service will not notify you of any changes to this requirement; the vendor is required to monitor the solicitation through this system. IMPORTANT NOTE In order to receive any contract award, Vendors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration and Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) databases.
