- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS ONLY. This is not a request for offers or proposals. This notice does not represent a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or award a contract. The Government does not intend to pay for information solicited. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), VISN 3 James J. Peters, VA Medical Center, Bronx is seeking highly qualified construction firms for the for the Construction of a new second floor to the existing two story structural steel frame and masonry exterior wall building terraced within the existing hillside adding approximately 14,000 square foot of new outpatient clinic space. Work will include structural steel, concrete and masonry, architectural, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC as well as demolition of the existing roofing system, alterations of existing exhaust vents, ducts, plumbing, and miscellaneous other utilities penetrating the existing roof and within the first floor nursing home unit. Fire alarm and fire sprinkler system construction and tie in to existing building systems are included. Overall construction will allow the addition of a third floor in the future. The estimated Construction Cost Range for this effort is the range prescribed in VAAR 836.204, which would be between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (service disabled veteran owned small business, veteran owned small business, hub zone, 8(a), small disadvantaged business, or large business). Responses to this synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. This solicitation is issued under the Small Business competitiveness demonstration program. The applicable NAICS Code is 236220 with a small business size standard of $31.0 Million and MUST have knowledgeable experience. The firm will be responsible for providing all management, supervision, labor, materials, supplies and equipment, and shall plan, schedule, and coordinate as per requirements of all governing agencies.
