- Description
- USACE, Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) intends to issue a sole source award to Eckert Optical Instruments, Inc., DBA: E.O.I., 412 Halsey Road, Annapolis, MD, 21401-3221, for the purchase and delivery of two E.O.I. Three-way Viewing Rugged Video Camera systems. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 334511, Search Detection, Navigation, Guidance, Aeronautical, and Nautical and System Instrument Manufacturing, and the Small Business Size Standard is 750 employees. The Government intends to procure from only one source under the FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The ERDC requires a tool to conduct bottom-borehole-inspections. This tool will allow the ERDC to investigate placement of seismic sensors, view sub-surface caverns, and aid in tracking movements in the subsurface. The camera must be capable of being lowered down a vertical shaft as small as 2, must be ruggedized, water resistant, offer three way viewing (vertical, and near and far horizontal forward viewing color camera, 2.45mm lens, 9 LED 50 degree lights, side viewing color camera with 3.6mm lens 24 LED 50 degree lights, side viewing black and white low light level camera with 6mm lens, 24 LED lights 20 degrees). The unit must also be completely submersible and operational while submerged up to 100 meters. The system must have at least 100 cable and be capable of going to depths up to 100. A firm-fixed price award will be made utilizing the Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation is available at this time. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation to the Contract Specialist within four (4) days of the date of this synopsis.
