- This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared inaccordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additionalinformation included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the onlysolicitation; offers are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.This notice is being issued as a Request for Quotations (RFQ) for a Lot of 6,000 (SixThousand) 18650 Lithium-ion Cells. The Statement of Work can be viewed at:http://procurement.jsc.nasa.gov/NNJ08260711Q/sow.doc The provisions and clauses in the RFQ are those in effect through FAC 2005-26.The NAICS Code for this procurement is 335912; Lithium batteries, primary, manufacturing.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.Delivery to NASA-JSC is required within 14 days ARO. NFS 1852.211-70 Packaging, Handling, and Transportation (SEP 2005) (a) The Contractor shall comply with NASA Procedural Requirements (NPR) 6000.1,``Requirements for Packaging, Handling, and Transportation for Aeronautical and SpaceSystems, Equipment, and Associated Components'', dated March 28, 2005, which may besupplemented by the Statement of Work or specifications of this contract, for all itemsdesignated as Class I, II, or III.(b) The Contractor's packaging, handling, and transportation procedures may be used, inwhole or in part, subject to the written approval of the Contracting Officer, provided(1) the Contractor's procedures are not in conflict with any requirements of thiscontract, and (2) the requirements of this contract shall take precedence in the event ofany conflict with the Contractor's procedures.(c) The Contractor must place the requirements of this clause in all subcontracts foritems that will become components of deliverable Class I, II, or III items.The FAR may be obtained via the Internet at URL: http://www.acquisition.gov/far/index.html The NFS may be obtained via the Internet at URL: http://www.hq.nasa.gov/office/procurement/regs/nfstoc.htm All contractual and technical questions must be in writing (e-mail) to Michael Duckworthnot later than12 noon local Houston time, July 24, 2008.
