Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs Network 22 Logistics Office has a requirement for (1) one 2004 GE 1.5T EXCITE II Short Bore Mobile MRI 50 Hz Mobile Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Scanner and a Technologist to operate the system. The MRI Scanner shall Operate a 14X software platform mounted in a mobile specialty vehicle in compliance with all applicable safety codes and regulations. The mobile MRI Scanner shall meet the following requirements: a) Electrical Service, b) Wheelchair Lift, c) Structural Support, d) Telephone and Date Interface. Contractor shall provide a certified Technologist to perform MRI Scanner Services. Services may Include but not limited to: a) Independently operates equipment to perform a variety of complex MRI exams, b) Confers with Radiologists to establish requirements of nonstandard examinations, c) Evaluates the nature of critical and emergency procedures, d) Interacts with patients, e) Performs technical operation and general technical maintenance of the computer, disk drives, console, imaging devices, etc., f) Performs clerical duties as they relate to patient care, g) Must use a wide variety of computerized equipment specific to MRI, h) Proficient with the use of power injector systems, PACS and WEBPACS viewing station software, I) Performs MRI examinations of head, trunk of body, extremities, j) Performs specialized studies such as MR Angiograms. Technologist must be AART and BLS Certified. Services shall be provided for VA Beneficiaries at VA San Diego Healthcare system (VASDHS), 3350 La Jolla Village Drive, San Diego, CA 92161. It's the VA's intention to set-aside this requirement to Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). The contract will include (1) base year of six months. This solicitation will be issued as a commercial item in accordance with FAR Part 12 and shall be evaluated in accordance with FAR Part 12 and 13 or some combination of both FAR parts. NAICS is 621512, (Size Standard $ 12.5 Million). The solicitation is expected to be issued on or about July 25, 2008.
