- The Intramural Research Program (IRP), National Institute on Aging (NIA), Laboratory of Epidemiology, Demography and Biometry (LEDB); at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a Sole Source contract to the Medical Research Council, Department of Epidemiology and Public Health, University College London Medical School; Edinbugh, EH4 2XU; NAICS CODE 541711 and the size standard is $500. The specific tasks to be performed by the contractor will be to provide a post-doctoral fellowship training in life course epidemiology. The MRC Unit for Lifelong Health and Ageing is the entity that is solely responsible for the NSHD. The MRC has actually been collecting and archiving the data for this study since it began in 1946. The data are maintained in a high security environment and there is no other entity that has access to the data. The MRC Unit for Lifelong Health and Ageing is therefore the only facility that can provide the opportunity to do research with this unique database. The research staff at the MRC Unit for Lifelong Health and Ageing have worked with these data for many years and offer a unique professional resource for a post-doctoral fellow who will be developing a research project utilizing these data. This notice may represent the only official notice. This is a Simplified Acquisition with the estimated value of less than $100,000.00 threshold. This acquisition is being procured under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) part 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy this agency’s requirement. This Notice of Intent (NOI) is not a request for competitive proposals. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct any future competitive procurement requirements.
