The Tuberculosis Trails Consortium TBTC is a collaboration of clinical investigators in the United States and multiple other nations whose mission is to conduct programmatically relevant clinical, laboratory, and epidemiologic research concerning the diagnosis, clinical management, and prevention of tuberculosis infection and disease. The consortium presently includes study sites in the U.S., Canada, Brazil, Spain, Uganda and the Republic of South Africa. The TBTC has conducted clinical trials in tuberculosis for over a decade, and has become an influential research resource globally. The Case Western Reserve University/Kampala Uganda site has one of the few certified laboratories that are essential for conducing Study 29. TBTC Study 29 is a prospective, multicenter, open-label clinical study for adults suspected of having pulmonary tuberculosis. The TBTC Study 29 Phase 2 clinical trial is to evaluate the antimicrobial activity and safety of an experimental intensive phase tuberculosis treatment regimen. The University will provide all necessary services, qualified personnel, material, equipment, and facilities to perform Study 29, using procedures outlined in the applicable protocol. The University will enroll, treat, perform laboratory tests, perform clinical follow-up, and report information on the appropriate case report forms to the CDC. The Case Western Reserve University/Kampala Uganda site has had the largest number of enrollments for Study 29 during the past two (2) studies which is necessary to meet the CDC requirements. Interested parties who feel that they possess the capabilities to provide the services described above should submit a capability statement demonstrating their capabilities to provide the services. The information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement.
