Description
The USDA, Agricultural Research Service intends to issue and award to the Bruker Optics Inc, Billerica, MA on a sole source basis. Award will be made pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The U.S. Department of Agriculture proposes to sole source purchase a Bruker FTIR Microscope and accessories specifically the Hyperion 2000 microscope accessory. Instrument Specifications: •The IR microscope must be able to be connected to a Bruker Tensor 27 and Vertex 70 FT-IR, using the Bruker microscope adaptor. •The IR microscope system must match all specifications of the Bruker quote (refer to quotation for microscope specifics), to include IR and visible illumination optics, attenuated total reflectance (ATR) objective, autofocus objectives, 4x/15x/20x/36x objectives, and adaptors for alternative detectors (e.g., focal plane array/FPA). •The IR microscope must be able to map a sample surface. •Only new or slightly used original-vendor demonstration microscopes, with full warranties and services, will be considered. Software Specifications: The Tensor 27/Vertex 70 FT-IR/NIR and Hyperion microscope come with the OPUS operational, testing, computational, control, mapping and graphics software packages. OPUS software packages operate on a computer with Windows XP operating system. •The IR microscope must use the OPUS software packages, to include OPUS/ATR, OPUS/VIDEO, and OPUS/MAP. •The software must have the ability to prepare and run macros. •The software must support the mapping functions. Service/Support Specifications: •The vendor will provide in-depth technical support for the operation, software, maintenance, and method development programs/components of the microscope. •Services, parts, and accessories purchased separately from systems must be warranted for at least 90 days. •Microscope systems must be warranted for a minimum of 1 year. Shall be delivery FOB to the USDA, ARS, SRRC, New Orleans, Louisiana. Responses are to be received within 15 days of this notice. The NAICS Code/Size is 333292. This procurement will be processed pursuant to FAR part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. No telephone inquiries will be accepted. No solicitation will be issued.
