- This public announcement is being issued in accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Acquisition Management System Section 3.2.1.2.1. This is not a solicitation announcement. This Sources Sought Notice does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an Invitation for Bid (IFB), nor does this issuance restrict the Government's acquisition approach. This announcement is for information and planning purposes and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited. Since this is a sources sought announcement, no evaluation letter/and or results will be issued to the respondents. The FAA has a requirement for the installation of Air Traffic Control Beacon Interrogator-6 (ATCBI-6) radar tower at Freeport, Grand Bahamas Island, Bahamas. This project is in the Bahamas and the contractor will be responsible for obtaining all permits/licenses and for complying with Federal, Bahamian, and Municipal laws, codes, and regulations applicable to the performance of the work. The work includes: installation of a new conduit supports, concrete foundation for radar tower, the assembly and erection of an angle-steel self-supporting tower (Government furnished), installation of lightning protection system, electrical fixtures, boxes, hoist and conduits and fiberglass radome (Government furnished).. The contractor shall furnish all materials not specifically indicated as furnished by the Government. The contractor shall furnish all materials, equipment, transportation, labor and services required to perform the work of this project. All work to be performed, and all materials and equipment used shall be subject to the approval of the Government. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 237130. Contractors interested in this requirement MUST submit the following by 4:30 p.m. (EST) on Friday, August 8, 2008: (1) A capability summary. (2) A list of relevant past performance in construction work including contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, and points of contact with their current phone numbers; (3) Evidence of capability to be bonded for bid, performance and payment bonds; All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on the availability of interested contractors. Brochures alone will not be considered sufficient documentation for demonstration of capabilities. No collect calls or telephone inquires will be accepted. If a solicitation is issued, it will be synopsized on the FAA's contract opportunities web page (http://faaco.faa.gov/). It is the potential offeror's responsibility to monitor this site for the release of any solicitation.
