Description
The Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) MILSATCOM Systems Wing (MCSW) intends to extend the period of performance of the current Military Strategic and Tactical Relay (Milstar) and Defense Satellite Communications System (DSCS III) satellite Orbital Operations Support (OOS) contract by 12 months via modification to contract FA8808-04-C-0012, awarded as a Cost-Plus Award Fee type contract. The current period of performance will be extended to cover the period from 1 December 2008 to 30 November 2009. The modification will be issued to Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company, 111 Lockheed Martin Way, Bldg 157, Sunnyvale, CA 94089. Classification code 22, identified at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/, applies. The current Milstar/DSCS III satellite orbital operations support efforts include satellite engineering in support of satellite health, safety, system and mission operations; satellite subsystem analysis and evaluation for both normal and anomaly resolution based on detailed design knowledge; and data retention and telemetry analysis including support of unique software required to accomplish the analysis. Tasks also include maintenance of all spacecraft and payload software databases, supporting hardware, and DSCS III ground systems. The Contractor also maintains existing satellite analysis software, spacecraft simulator hardware and software and technical analyst workstation hardware and software. Technical support to include on-site problem resolution and engineering input to technical order changes is also provided. A 12-month extension to the current OOS contract will be executed to align with the expiration of the MILSATCOM Logistics Sustainment Support (MLSS) contract and allow time for the combining of the OOS and MLSS requirements into a single Milstar, DSCS III, and Advanced EHF Satellite sustainment follow-on contract. The Government intends to seek competition for the follow-on contract. This notice is for information purposes only; it does not constitute an RFP. Information herein is based on the best information available at the time of publication, is subject to revision, and is not binding on the Government. Any information submitted in response to this notice is strictly voluntary. The Government will not recognize any cost associated with the submission of information.
