- NASA/KSC has a requirement for a Portable Hardness Tester and accessories. Thisrequirement is brand name or equal to GE Inspection Technologies. Item #1. (QTY 1 EA)Portable hardness tester (MIC 10DL)Utilizes an ultrasonic technique (UCI method) for operation with a Vickersdiamond indenter probe. Digital display with onboard computer for calculating average hardness andediting of erroneous values without interruption of the measurement set.Conversion of Vickers hardness measurements (HV) to Rockwell and Brinell scales(HB, HRB, & HRC). Capable of testing thin-walled componentsVisual and audible alarm with adjustable parameters to show critical measurementvalues. Portability of instrument (battery operated). Data storage (on-board and via removable cards). Data cable for connection to printer or PC. Carrying case to hold all the components for field testing. Item # 2. (QTY 1EA)Probe kit (MIC 205A)Hand-held, small size standard probe with Vickers indenter. 5 kgf load (50 N)Capable of testing materials with range of hardness from 20 HV 1740 HV Item # 3. (QTY 1 EA)Probe Shoe (MIC 270)Flat shoe to interface with the probe to provide positively perpendicular testprobing. This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared inaccordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additionalinformation included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the onlysolicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are beingrequested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Offerors are required to usethe On-Line RFQ system to submit their quote. The On-line RFQ system is linked above orit may be accessed athttps://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/rfqs/submit/vendor_quote.cgi?rfqnum=NNK08249665Q&pin=76.The information required by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the SimplifiedAcquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13.Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted via e-mail tomaria.m.figueroa@nasa.gov no later than August 5, 2008. It is the quoter's responsibilityto monitor this site for the release of amendments (if any).
