- Description
- The Navy plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) on or about 8 September 2008 to encourage industry participation in the production of the Acoustic Device Countermeasure MK2 Mod 3 devices. The MK 2 Mod 3 device is 3 inches in diameter, submarine launched expendable countermeasure device developed to provide SSN, SSBN, and SSGN submarines the capability to counter torpedo threats. The Government contemplates award of a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract, with Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) components for engineering services and Cost Reimbursement (Cost Only) CLINs for other direct costs resulting from this solicitation. The requirement consists of a base year and up to four (4) one-year options with a possible annual quantity of 100-850 units per year. The RFP and related files listed under the solicitation will be issued electronically. Vendors wishing an electronic copy may download it directly to their workstation on or after the issue date by accessing the following address via the internet site or URL: http://www.neco.navy.mil. The drawings for this procurement may be obtained by contacting Nydia Roman Albertorio at nydia.romanalbertori@navy.mil. The specifications for the MK 2 Mod 3 are classified as Confidential. Accordingly, those intending to submit a proposal must submit the following information: the companys physical address, classified address, cage code, and point of contact for the information. The drawings will not be released until the RFP has been issued and approval has been obtained by the NAVSEA security office. Offerors may send in their security information early so the drawings can be issued, if approved, at or about the same time as the RFP. This is not an RFP, a promise to issue an RFP, or a promise by the Government to pay for information received in response to this synopsis or any subsequent synopsis. This information is subject to modification and in no way binds the Government to award a contract.
