Description
The VA Great Lakes Acquisition Center intends to negotiate a sole source contract with NeuroCom International, Inc for a SMART EquiTest CRS. The SMART EquiTest CRS is the only commercially available system that has a Sensory Organization Test (SOT) utilizing visual sway-referencing. This method of disturbance to the visual system during SOT tests is the only approach that has published validity and reliability studies. The SMART EquiTest CRS also measures automatic motor response, within a test called the Motor Control Test (MCT). During this test, the dual AMTI force platforms are translated forward and backward to determine a person's automatic response to perturbation. The SMART EquiTest CRS also offers clinical posturography functionality and allows for flexibility in posturography protocols, allowing the balance investigator to determine the trial movements and durations. To the best of our knowledge NeuroCom International, Inc is the exclusive distributor of this system. This procurement is being conducted in accordance FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. Contract is firm fixed price and the NAICS Code is 339112. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitations documents are available and telephone requests will not be honored. However, if a firm believes it can meet the requirements it must furnish information about its products and services, as well as references from other customers who are using these products and service, to the Contracting Officer within (5) calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirement. Information must be sent to the Contracting Officer, VAMC GLAC, 5000 W. National Ave Bldg. 5, Milwaukee WI 53295 or via fax to (414) 902-5440. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the GLAC will proceed with a sole source negotiation with NeuroCom International, Inc.
