Description
The purpose of this web-posting is to give ADVANCE NOTICE of a pending Request for Offers (RFO) for the subject project. This web-posting currently includes a summary of the project's Scope of Work. The FAA point-of-contact listed above will post a complete RFO to this website by approximately July 30, 2008 which will include a detailed Scope of Work, contract clauses, and requirements for submitting an offer. A TIERED EVALUATION of offers will be used in the source selection for this contract, and offers from other-than small business concerns will only be considered after the determination that an insufficient number of offers from responsible small business concerns were received. Once offers are received the FAA will evaluate a single tier of offers according to a specified order of precedence. If no award can be made at the first tier, the evaluation will proceed to the next higher lettered tier until award can be made. The tiered order of precedence for considering offers is (from first to last): a)Socially and economically disadvantaged business (SEDB) expressly certified by the Small Business Administration (SBA) for participation in the SBA's 8(a) program.b)Service-disabled veteran owned small business (SDVOSB).c)Very small business.d)Small business.e)Other-than small business. - There will be a mandatory contractor site visit for this project during the month of August 2008. Offers will only be considered from those contractors who have attended the site visit. Full details of the site visit will be posted in the RFO not-later-than approximately July 30, 2008. - Planned period of performance is approximately September 10, 2008 to November 20, 2008. - Davis Bacon Act wage rates apply. - Estimated value: Between $50,000 and $100,000. - The NAICS Code for this project will be 236220. SUMMARY: SCOPE OF WORK The Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, transportation, services and materials that is required or necessary to perform the work according to the contract, attached specifications, site visit instructions, and the following site specific requirements.Project scope summary: Refurbish the basement breakroom as shown on the project drawings and as specified during the mandatory job walk. The work includes, but is not limited to: Remove existing counter, cabinets, cupboards, accoustical ceiling, walls, carpet, door etc. Build new metal stud walls with 5/8" gypsum board and textured finished. Install 2 new door frames and doors. Build and install in-wall bookcase in reading area. Install LCD Television bracket on wall. Build and install theater seating platform. Build and install cabinets, granite countertop and cupboards shown on project drawing. Install sink and faucet and associated hardware. Install new vinyl composite tile (VCT) and carpet. Paint walls.
