- NASA/KSC has a requirement for an optical harness tester, probe kit, battery,reference block and carrying case. This requirement is brand name or equal to GEInspection Technologies.Item# 1. (QTY 1) Optical portable harness tester (TIV Base Instrument) Utilizes an optical techique.Vickers indentation.CCD camera for automatic or manual determination of diagonal lengthsCapable of testing thin-walled components.Testing independent of the test position, direction, material, geometry, and massof the test object, requiring no additional calibration.Touch screen: VGA color thin film transistor (TFT) display with 5.7 or greaterviewing screen and at least 240 x 320 pixels.Item# 2. (QTY 1) Probe kit (TIV 105)Hand-held.5 kgf load (50 N).Capable of testing materials with range of hardness from 100 HV 1000 HV. Two probe shoe adapters: A flat shoe adapter with 45 mm contact area and a teststand adapter with 14 mm contact area.Item# 3. (QTY 1) Reference block (TIV2V050)Vickers reference plate 280 HV, 5kgf, 80 mm dia. with manufacturers certificate.Item# 4. (QTY 1) Battery (MIC 20-BAT)NiMH rechargeable battery pack.At least 1,000 measurements before recharge required. Item# 5. Soft Carry Case (MIC-BAG)Carrying case to hold all the components for field testing.This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared inaccordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additionalinformation included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the onlysolicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are beingrequested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Offerors are required to usethe On-Line RFQ system to submit their quote. The On-line RFQ system is linked above orit may be accessed athttp://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/rfqs/submit/vendor_quote.cgi?rfqnum=NNK08251583Q&pin=76. The information required by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the SimplifiedAcquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13.Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted via e-mail tomaria.m.figueroa@nasa.gov no later than August 6, 2008. It is the quoter's responsibilityto monitor this site for the release of amendments (if any).
