- NOTICE OF INTENT TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Morgantown, West Virginia hereby announces its intent to issue a purchase order to the Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), Dermatology Department, 10900 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44106: The purpose of this contract is to conduct a joint clinically-related research titled Genetic Predisposition to Allergic Contact Dermatitis. CWRU has a unique professional expertise in this field. The contact dermatitis clinic at University Hospitals Case Medical Center is a regionall referral source for patients referred by dermatologists and occupational medicine specialists. The clinic has unique experience and expertise in the evaluation of contact dermatitis and has patch testing services available for specialized evaluation and education. University Hospitals Case Medical Center also has an NIH funded Skin Diseases Research Center (SDRC) which has previously conducted a large NIOSH-funded study of genetic polymorphisms in irritant hand dermatitis. The department also has an active immunology research team with an interest in inflammatory skin diseases. They have access to the resources of University Hospitals Case Medical Center General Clinical Research Center and also have their own Translational Skin Study Center, as part of the SDRC. This project is supported by justification for other than full and open competition to Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), Dermatology Department, under authority of 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1). Responsible sources that believe they possess the expertise and capabilities identified above are encouraged to submit to the Contracting Officer within 15 days from the posting date of this notice, their written capabilities statement and pricing information in the format they choose, not to exceed 10 pages. Please forward the capability statement and pricing information to Kimberly Groves, Purchasing Agent, CDC, NIOSH, 1065 Willowdale Road, Morgantown, WV 26505 or e-mail kpg0@cdc.gov or Fax to 304-285-6083. Please reference #000HCCCB-2208-59826; all vendors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) prior to an award of a federal contract. The website is: www.ccr.gov. The Government will review any/all capabilities statements and pricing information submitted and determines if other qualified sources do exist that could provide this requirement. Information received in response to this announcement will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 15 days, in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), negotiations will be conducted with Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), Dermatology Department, 10900 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44106 as the only source and a purchase order will be issued without any additional notices being posted.
