Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. NUWC Division Newport intends to solicit proposals for software engineering and life cycle support, and material and services for the overhaul, refurbishment, installation, checkout, life cycle maintenance and repair of the Ohio Class Submarine Data Processing Subsystem (DPS) equipment and related systems. NUWC anticipates a five-year, Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) contract. A proposed sole source action with Lockheed Martin Corporation (LMC) is anticipated. Lockheed Martin Corporation has provided these support services since the inception of the Ohio Class Submarine Program. Much of the equipment and associated components have exceeded end of life (EOL) and are no longer manufactured. The experience, skill set, and timeliness in response required for installation, maintenance, and repair of the related systems rests solely with the Lockheed Martin Corporation engineering staff. This is a follow on to Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) N66604-06-G-0942 with Lockheed Martin Corporation. Each year’s quantity for the services is estimated to be 40,727 hours per year. This solicitation will be unrestricted. NAICS Code is 541330; size standard is $4.5 Million. The solicitation is expected to be released on or about 8/12/2008. Offers must be submitted to Commercial Acquisition Department, Building 11, Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport, Code 11911, Simonpietri Drive, Newport, Rhode Island 02841-1708. For information on this acquisition contact Anthony Gaglione at 401-832-7734. See Note 22
