Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to issue a fixed price purchase order on a noncompetitive basis to Hain Lifescience located in Nehren, Germany. The scope of this purchase order is to purchase the Hain line probe assay test kits and necessary equipment in an effort to test M tuberculosis. The overall purpose of the project is to identify Mycobacteria and/or the determination of drug resistance if the Mycobaterica present is identified as M. tuberculosis. The Hani line probe assay test kits and necessary equipment will enable the Clinical/OI Team of the International Lab Branch of the Global AIDS Program to become proficient at this technique and to be able to train technologists in PEPFAR countries in its use in CDC Atlanta laboratory and onsite. ICTP has been identified as the only vendor that manufactures and sells a line probe assay for the detection of TB and antibiotic resistance. There are no other commercially available molecular drug resistance assays for M tuberculosis currently being sold. The North American Industry Classification Code is 423490 This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, but all replies received within 15 days of publication will be considered. A determination not to compete based on responses received, and to proceed with a noncompetitive award is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
