- Notice of intent to award a sole source procurement in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. In accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures and FAR Part 15, Contracting by Negotiation, the Government intends to award a sole source contract for the modification/restoration of Line Replacable Units (LRUs) to the contractor who performed the initial modifications. These LRUs were utilized in the Expanded 1553 Bus (E-1553) Demonstration/Validation (Dem/Val) Program. This effort is intended to return those specific LRUs to current F-16 Block-30 configuration in fully serviceable and flyable condition, to include a one year warranty. The soliciation will be posted at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/ under solicitation number FA8232-08-Q-1001 on or around 13 August 2008. It is anticipated that this requirement will last for a period of 6 months. Please be advised that the Program Management in charge of this Government effort includes a support contractor from Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC).
