- Description
- The Guidance and Control (G&C) liquid cooler test bench is an intermediate and depot level test bench used to test repaired components of the complete G&C liquid cooler and to test and calibrate the G&C liquid cooler test sets used in the field and includes SRU level repair. The test benches at the Wings are used to test the G&C liquid cooler components that are ready to be installed in the launch facility and to calibrate the G&C liquid cooler test sets. The G&C liquid cooler test benches, managed by the ICBM program office, are equipped with two sensors that are no longer in production. The project will address the ICBM G&C liquid cooler test bench Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) issues to eliminate obsolescenc issue for the two sensors within the test stand. The required flow meters are not procurable or reparable and because of the low number of or lack of spare assets, the government can no longer support the test bench. It is estimated that the present supplies of these sensors will allow the lifetime of the test bench to end in or before 2010. In order to increase the lifetime of the test bench to 2030, suitable replacements for the liquid and gas flow meters must be selected and installed. The government currently requires replacements of the liquid flow meter, the gas flow meter and their display to be identified and demonstrated and tested as form, fit, and function replacements. The contractor shall identify, document, integrate and deliver a prototype with replacement flow meters, displays, and other necessary equipment that will meet the system specifications and also meet the form, fit, and function requirements. The contractor shall install and test the prototype flow meters, displays, and other necessary equipment at F.E. Warren AFB located in Cheyenne, WY.
