- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center, Training Systems Division, Orlando, Florida, in support of the Navy’s Center for Security Forces, Little Creek, VA, intends to solicit and award a sole source, Firm Fixed Price, purchase order to FATS Virtual Training Solutions Company for two new systems and upgrades to existing systems for FATS Small Arms Simulator equipment at various training sites throughout the U.S. and Japan under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 (Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements). A list of the required parts is included as an attachment to this synopsis. The FATS parts being procured are for equipment manufactured by FATS Virtual Training Solutions Company. Purchase of an equivalent product would not meet form, fit and functionality of the equipment for which it is to be integrated into and would not be compatible with the existing systems, therefore these products must be procured from FATS Virtual Training Solutions Company. Interested firms may submit their capabilities and qualifications to the identified point of contact not later than 12 August 2008, 3:00pm eastern time. Such capabilities and qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. This is not a request for quotes, and this notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation document exists at this time, and any information submitted is for informational purposes only; it is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to procure any supplies or ervices, or for the Government to pay for the information received.
