Description
The 96th Contracting Squadron, Eglin AFB, Florida intends to solicit, negotiate, and award a commercial, firm-fixed price purchase order for tungsten cubes and hexes. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. The announcement number is F1TBAM8151A001. This requirement has been set aside 100% for small businesses. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 331491 with a size standard of 750 employees. Please identify your business size in your response based upon this standard. The items below have a mandatory delivery date of 7 weeks after receipt of order. Please indicate your ability to comply with this delivery requirement in any response to this solicitation: The requirement consists of the following items: CLIN 0001, (210 KG) Tungsten heat treated cubes, 6mm. Material shall contain a minimum of 91% tungsten sintered with nickel and Iron. Material shall not contain cobalt. Part shall be cube shaped between the limits of 6.30 mm and 5.80 mm in length for each side (6.0mm nominal). Crush test results shall be provided for at least 5 sample parts. CLIN 0002, (80 KG) Tungsten heat treated hexes, 6 x 3.45 x 3.12mm. Material shall contain a minimum of 91% tungsten sintered with nickel and Iron. Material shall not contain cobalt. Overall length of the tapered hex shape shall be between 6.30 mm and 5.80 mm from the large and small hexagonal ends (6.0mm nominal). The large end of the tapered hex shall be between the limits of size of 3.60 mm and 3.35 mm between the flats of the hexagonal shape (3.50mm nominal). The small end of the tapered hex shall be between the limits of size of 3.25 mm and 3.00 mm between the flats of the hexagonal shape (3.125mm nominal). Crush test results shall be provided for at least 5 sample parts. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-26.
