Description

JUSTIFICATION FOR OTHER THAN FULL AND OPEN COMPETITIONFAR 6.302-1 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1) The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 7, Birmingham AL intends to negotiate a sole source procurement under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, with Carl Zeiss, Inc. to provide LSM 710 35 34 CH AR, 543, 633 LASER SCANNING MICROSCOPRE WITH 34 SPECTRAL DETECTION CHANNELS, 5 LASER LINES - 458, 488, 514, 543, & 633 NM, CONTROL ELECTRONICS, ZEN SOFTWARE PC AND 30 MONITOR to the Birmingham Alabama VA Medical Center. The NAICS code is 334516. This notice of intent is not a REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. Interested parties may identify their experience in providing this equipment to the Contracting Officer via fax 478-274-5866. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All responses must be received not later than 12:00PM CST on 8/14/2008. E-mail: james.Rose3@va.gov or fax 478-274-5866. Cost associated with the preparation and submission of information and/or any follow-up information request are the responsibility of the vendor and these costs will not be reimbursed by the Government.
