- NASA/DFRC has a requirement for a portable dome theater system and accessories.The specifications are:Discovery Dome Portable Dome Theater System5 meter Go-Dome (black) standard fabric with air lock door, three speed blower andstorage bag, one year manufacturers warranty, weight-62 lbsDell laptop computer with 2.0 GB RAM, 2.1 GHz Intel Core 2, NVIDIA video card with 256MB,130GB hard driveNewtonian-1 mirror projection system with high definition (1920x1080 pixel) resolutionprojector; includes protective case and a lightweight adjustable standDell Inspiron M6300 computer with 2.0 GB RAM, 2.16GHz Intel Core 2, NVIDIA GeForce videocard with 512 MB 130 GB hard drivePortable sound system (Altec Lansing or equivalent) with two external speakers and onsubwooferFour-wheel collapsible equipment cart for transporting system hardwareOne hard-shell storage case with contour foam filling for equipment storage andtransportationMediaShow Pro-premium version; full-feature media programming with one-button controls;easy to operate interface with minimal operator training required; one seat license withfree unlimited upgrades.Stellarium- open source planetarium software depicting the starts, planets, moons andmore; loaded and formatted on computer; includes Tonights Sky Guide show.Five planetarium shows; Saturn Ring World 2, Force 5, Dinosaur Propechy, Earths WildRide, and Its About Time perpetual license agreement for unlimited use.Forty (40) images of galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters configured for fulldomeprojection and loaded on the computerComplete on-site (California) training session including software usage, equipment setup, operation and takedownOne year unlimited telephone supportFuture MoonLucys Cradle- the Birth of WonderIce WorldsAmazing Astronomers of AntiquityBlack HolesDawn of the Space AgeNASA/DFRC intends to purchase the items E-Planetarium. E-Planetarium is the only vendorthat can provide this system with all the media required and eligible upgrades in thefuture.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon August 10, 2008. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
