- LANCASTER ROADS This solicitation was originally synopsized under AG-0116-S-08-0061 on July 21, 2008 as a solicitation allowing for MULTIPLE awards. The Government has decided to separate Sealevel and Lancaster Roads and each one will have their own solicitation number. GENERAL PROJECT DESCRIPTION LANCASTER ROADS – The project involves the reconstruction of the Lancaster LTF to replace the log bulkhead with new logs, and construction of 4.0 miles of forest road. Some of the major work items for the road construction are: construction of linear grading roads, installation of culverts, and log stringer bridges, mobilization, and quality control. This project is located on the Craig Ranger District of the Tongass National Forest. It is approximately 18 air miles West of Ketchikan, Alaska in Chomondeley Sound, Lancaster Cove. It can be reached only by sea plane or boat. The roads systems can be accessed by the Forest Service Lancaster Cove Marine Access Facility located in Lancaster Cove, which consists of a loading ramp and log bulkhead for a barge. Contract Type – Firm Fixed Price. Estimated Price Range – between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Period of Performance – 365 days after issuance of the notice to proceed. OBTAINING A SOLICITATION The solicitation will be posted on FedBizOpps website on or about August 4, 2008 for viewing and printing. Offerors are requested to obtain the solicitation from the Internet. If unable to successfully obtain the solicitation from the Internet, then a hard copy of the solicitation documents may be requested via fax at 907-228-6254. All requests must reference solicitation number AG-0116-S-08-0069. Telephone requests will not be honored. Offers will be due approximately 30 calendar days after the solicitation issue date. NOTIFICATION OF SOLICITATION AMENDMENTS The Forest Service will not notify you of any changes to this requirement; the vendor is required to monitor the solicitation through this system. IMPORTANT NOTE In order to receive any contract award, Vendors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration and Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) databases.
