- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Coordinating Center for Infectious Diseases (CCID) is seeking to award a sole source purchase order for a Light Cycler 480 Real-Time PCR System II. In order to meet the government's minimum requirement a vendor must be able to provide laboratory equipment with the following minimum specifications and capabilites: - RT PCR with 30 cycle, 384-well runs in less than 40 minutes - 5 minutes activation time for the hot-start enzyme - Well to well temperature homogeneity in an RT PCR - Allows 96-well and 384-well blocks to be swtiched in less than 5 minutes and without requiring any futher warm-up or calibration - Use of licensed melting curve technology in a 96- or 384-well RT PCR system In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, the Government has determined that Roche Diagnostics Corp of Indianapolis IN is the only responsible source to provide this requirement. Subject to availability of funds, the Government intends issue a purchase order by 20 August 2008. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. Firms who believe they can provide the services and maintenance required are encouraged to identify themselves and provide written notification and description and/or specifications of product to the Contracting Officer (fyq8@cdc.gov) within fifteen (15) days from the date of this synopsis. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
