- This is a Sources Sought Notice. This is not a Request for Proposals, no solicitation document exits. Responses to this sources sought notice will not serve as proposals, bids or offers, which could be accepted by the government to form a binding contract. Any information provided to the Government is strictly voluntary and will be provided at no cost to the Government. Responses are due no later than 3:00 p.m. (EST) August 20, 2008. The purpose of this sources sought notice is to conduct market research information about vendors who are capable of implementing a total solid waste management solution at no initial cost or based on a cost saving contract. The market research information resulting from this sources sought will be used to assist in determining the acquisition strategy for the upcoming competition. "GPO has a requirement to implement best practice management into our solid waste removal system. A total solid waste management solution would incorporate a Contractor to identify waste streams, increase recyclable volumes and revenues, and reduce solid waste volumes, pickups, container size and overall costs. All sites are located in the Washington Metropolitan area. Primary recyclable materials at these facilities include cardboard (OCC), paper (mixed and sorted), shrink/stretch-wrap, wood pallets, metals, shredded secure waste, cores, etc. Primary non-recyclable materials being produced at the facility include compacted and non-compacted solid waste." The GPO invites all interested parties to submit a written response to this sources sought notice. Specifically, the written response needs to address offerors services in providing solid waste management solutions. The response shall not exceed 25 pages and should not contain marketing/advertising information. No Solicitation document is currently available. The government will consider the responses to this sources sought notice and may issue a formal solicitation at a date to be determined. Responses to this notice will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this announcement, should the government decide to issue a solicitation announcement will be published in the Federal Business Opportunity for this service. All interested offerors will have the opportunity to respond to solicitation announcements. Project Description: Please Note: The description provided herein is a summary of anticipated services and is not intended to be all-inclusive. All responses to this Sources Sought announcement shall include Company Name and address. Please do not call the Contracting Officer for information. Responses must be provided no later than August 20, 2008. No extensions will be granted. This notice is to assist the United States Government Printing Office in determining potential sources. This sources sought announcement is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for the information solicited. The responses to this Sources Sought synopsis must be in writing and are to be forwarded via email to Herbert H. Jackson, Jr. at hjackson@gpo.gov and Gloria Robertson at grobertson@gpo.gov on or before 3:00 p.m. (EST) August 20, 2008. No telephonic inquiries will be accepted.
