The Department of Veteran Affairs, Employee Education System (EES) intends to negotiate with The Innovation Center at Vanderbilt Center for Better Health, 3401 West End Avenue, Suite 290, Nashville, TN 37203 on a sole source basis for the acquisition of meeting rooms and refreshments, etc. for the Treating Veterans with C.A.R.E. Workshop for Master Trainers and Education Coordinators to be held on October 15-17, 2008. An estimated 30 participants will be attending the Treating Veterans with C.A.R.E. Workshop (TVWC). The conference/workshop must be conducted in the south-east region in order to meet the needs of the TVWC program master trainers in this geographic location (the VHA was divided into four geographic regions). Part A: The requirements for this accelerated learning environment are: Item 1. Movable walls with supporting technology (includes video taping the interaction and providing DVD copies for all participants at the end of the session). Item 2. The arrangement of furniture and WorkWalls which must be easily reconfigured to accommodate individual, as well as large and small group work. The furniture and WorkWalls also must be able to be moved several times during a single event as activities and events unfold. Item 3. Professional Staff (experienced in Accelerated Learning) must be assigned to work specifically with the VA EES Program Manager and Faculty to set up the conference/workshop environment and consult on the design of project plans, activities, and work sessions. Item 4. Provides voice and data lines throughout the space enabling participants to connect with outside resources. Item 5. Provides a fully reconfigurable work space with whiteboards, AV and information technology designed to accommodate collaborative work groups. Part B: Light refreshments for morning and afternoon breaks. The dates of the Treating Veterans with C.A.R.E. Workshop are restricted to October 15-17, 2008 in order to accommodate availability of this unique training facility and training instructors in this part of the USA. No other source in the Nashville, TN area is known to EES that is capable of supplying the required room space configurations required for this training event. Any source submitting a written response to this synopsis shall include sufficient documentation to establish a bonafide capability to fulfill the requirement and must be compliant with the Hotel and Motel Fire Safety Act (provide FEMA number) and the Americans with Disabilities Act. A SOLICITATION IS NOT AVAILABLE. Any written and/or verbal requests for copies of a solicitation relating to this announcement will not be honored or acknowledged. A determination by EES not to compete this requirement based on any responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of EES.
