- Description The U.S. Department of Labor is seeking qualified design build contractors who are ceritfied Total Small Businesses that can perform services for a new dormitory at the Arecibo Job Corps Center in Garrochales, Puerto Rico. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 236220 with a Small Business Size Standard of $31.0 million. The work to be performed involves Design-Build services for the code update and minor design changes of a new dormitory building. The building totals approximately 13,800 gross square feet and has been design by others. As well as construction services, the Design-Build Contractor’s scope of work calls for a review and update of the original design to meet current codes and regulations, deletion of one architectural feature from the original design and minor changes to the mechanical specifications. The project also includes miscellaneous site improvements in the form of general landscaping, drainage and connections to all utility lines, as well as the filing for all requisite permits with the appropriate local permitting agencies. The Design-Build Contractor will be required to provide AE services for the execution of the design and code updates, permitting filings, and the production of an Interim Construction Documents set followed by a Construction-ready Documents set. The construction magnitude for this procurement is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Proposals are due by 3:00 PM EST on September 19, 2008. The time and location of the Pre-Proposal Conference will be stated in the Solicitation. Solicitation documents will be issued on or about August 15, 2008. Contact Ms. Olivia J.
