Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is soliciting prospective Service Disabled Veteran Owned firms to renovate portions of Building 2, predominantly the 7th floor with some extension to the basement in G101 at the West Haven campus of VA Connecticut Healthcare System (VACHS), 950 Campbell Avenue, West haven, CT. Total area to be renovated is approximately 19,500 square feet. The proposed project will convert existing space into research laboratory space. Work includes demolition of general building components cmu walls, plaster ceilings, electrical & mechanical systems, asbestos abatement, construction of new research laboratories and lab casework, new MEP and finishes. Work to be done herein under includes furnishing of all labor, equipment and materials, to perform all work required for the renovation of the 7th floor of Building #2 and certain extensions to areas impacted above and below this floor as well as in the basement of building 2. Extensive coordination will be required between the selected contractor and the VA. This Medical Center is the primary care provided for the western territory in New England and is in operation 24/7. Approximately 25% of the designated construction floor as well as adjacent areas will be occupied during construction. A preliminary phasing document is included within the contract documents. All work is anticipated to commence in October 2008 and be completed before the end of March 2009. The estimated cost for this project is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. The NAICS code for this Procurement is 236220 with a Size Standard of $31,000,000. This solicitation is 100% set-aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Firms. The estimated issue date for this procurement is on or about 15 August 2008. Interested bidders can download the solicitation via the Federal Business opportunities website (www.fbo.gov). The due date for the bid will be stated in the solicitation. Requests for solicitation documents by telephone, fax or email will not be honored. Instructions for bid submissions will be provided in the solicitation. All responsible Service Disabled Veteran Owned firms may submit a bid for consideration by the New England District.
